Auto air conditioning and heating service in Calgary
We fix car A/C that won't cool and heaters that won't heat, including slow defrosters.
Wow Tire & Auto Repair in NE Calgary diagnoses and repairs car air conditioning and heating systems on every make and model. We check A/C pressures against manufacturer spec, look for leaks, test the compressor belt, blower and controls, and pressure test the cooling system, thermostat and hoses when the heat or defroster isn't working.
Your car's A/C and heater share a lot of parts: the same blower, the same vents, the same controls. When one acts up, the other is often involved. Our Calgary shop diagnoses both, whether the A/C barely cools, the cabin won't warm up, or the defroster takes forever to clear the glass.
We test before we replace. That means checking A/C pressures against your manufacturer's spec, measuring the temperature at the vents, checking for leaks, and pressure testing the cooling system that feeds your heater. Then we tell you what's wrong and what it costs.

No heat, lukewarm heat or a slow defroster is a safety problem in a Calgary winter. We check coolant, the thermostat, hoses, the heater core and the blower to find the cause.

We measure first
We compare your A/C pressures to manufacturer spec, check vent outlet temperature, and pressure test the cooling system. A recharge alone isn't a diagnosis.
We fix the cooling system too
Heating and cooling problems often overlap. Because we also repair cooling systems, we can follow a no-heat problem from the blower all the way to the radiator.
Honest about the fix
If it turns out to be a fuse or a clogged cabin filter, we say so. If it's a compressor, we explain why and give you the price before any work starts.
Gas, hybrid and electric
We work on A/C and heating on every make and model, including hybrids and electric vehicles.
Questions we hear a lot

Why is my car A/C blowing warm air?
The most common cause is low refrigerant from a leak. Other causes include a failed compressor or compressor clutch, a worn belt, a bad blend door, an electrical fault, or a clogged condenser. Refrigerant doesn't get used up, so if it's low, it went somewhere. We find the leak before we recharge.
Why does my car smell musty when I turn on the A/C?
That smell usually comes from mould or bacteria growing on the evaporator, the part behind the dash that gets cold and wet. A dirty cabin air filter makes it worse. Replacing the filter and cleaning the evaporator often fixes it. Running the fan without A/C for a few minutes before you park helps dry it out.
Why is my car heater blowing cold air?
Low coolant is the first thing to check. A stuck-open thermostat, a clogged heater core, air in the cooling system or a faulty blend door can also cause it. If your temperature gauge stays low or the heat comes and goes, that points to the cooling system. Low coolant should be checked soon, since it can also lead to overheating.
How much does car A/C repair cost in Calgary?
It depends on what failed. A recharge after fixing a small leak costs much less than replacing a compressor or evaporator. We check pressures, look for leaks and test the components first, then give you a price. Call 403-454-7500 for a free quote.
